Tony CHANG (1969~),
Curator,

Tony Chang pursues his own critical academic research on contemporary art and culture, also works as independent consultant/curator for art institutions in China and abroad.

With a vision of making social progress by art, Tony initiated / curated annual China Print Art Festival in Beijing, an ethical art event educating and promoting the understanding of printmaking and art to the public.

In 2006, Tony collaborated with British curator on curatorial triptych "Time. Space & I", Beijing, UK and Germany.

From 2005, Tony teamed up with Chinese film Director Zhang YiMou on the creative proposal for the opening/closing ceremonies of 2008 Olympic Games, collaborating with China's top artists, theater directors, screen writers, musicians, animators and producers. The creative proposal was chosen by the Beijing Olympic Committee as the blueprint for the final games.

As a new media artist, Tony conducted research/practice on stop-motion video art and VRML / interactive device prototype from 2000-2004 in England.

Majored in BA Design, Tony was a successful Creative Director/copywriter and entrepreneur in advertising for eight years.

Back in the university time, Tony pursued his literature and philosophy interests, organized literature league and published underground magazines. Writing poems himself, he was an active figure in China's avant-garde poetry movement in 1990s.
